Petrolheads across the East Midlands are being given the opportunity to come for a spin with a local off road club in Newark this month to raise money for the East Midlands Air Ambulance.
The East Midlands Off Road Club (EMORC) is inviting members of the public to get a taste of off-roading at the Newark Kit Car Show at Newark Showground on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June.
EMORC member, David Brewer said: The East Midlands Off Road Club is made up of a friendly group of off road enthusiasts who aim to have fun whilst enjoying our form of motor sport.
The Newark Kit Car Show will allow members of the public to be passengers inside our vehicles for a drive around an off-road course, which was originally put in for the Land Rover show a couple of years ago.
Any form of motor sport can be dangerous, even though we compete at low speeds.
The type of terrain we use our vehicles on and the remote locations we compete at means if we are in need of urgent medical attention then we might well rely on the services of the East Midlands Air Ambulance.”
This years appearance at the Kit Car Show will aim to improve on the groups fundraising efforts at last years event, which saw enthusiastic members of the public raise 500 for East Midlands Air Ambulance.
Whilst the club has not yet set a price for the off road experience, it is asking for donations from members of the public.
